2011 Nissan Juke

Quiz time, kids! What looks like nothing else, has all-wheel drive and a turbo-charged, 1.6-liter direct-injection gasoline engine? Give up? OK, we’ll tell you: It’s the JUKE, a new small crossover from Nissan. Replete with new features and technology, the JUKE arrives in dealers in October and starts at $18,960. Your CT Nissan dealers have all the JUKE details.

Powering the 2011 JUKE is a 1.6-liter, direct-injection, turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 180 horsepower and 170 lb.-ft. of torque. The power figures are approximate, but Nissan has indicated they’re close if not conservative estimates. A choice of two transmissions delivers power to either the front or all four wheels. Nissan’s Xtronic CVT automatic or a six-speed manual, which is only available on front-wheel drive models. Opting for the CVT gains a torque-vectoring all-wheel drive system, which splits power up to 50:50 between the front and rear wheels. It can also split torque side-to-side on the rear axle. The 2011 JUKE also includes Nissan’s new Integrated Control system, which offers two settings—one that provides controls for the automatic climate system and another that provides a drive mode selector with three throttle/transmission/steering response settings, Normal, Sport and Eco. I-CON adopts different display colors and functions depending on how it’s being used. Advanced technology is what buyers are looking for, according to Framingham Nissan.

In keeping with the 2011 JUKE’s sportiness, the front seats are bolstered for spirited driving, while the rear seat is a fold-down 60/40 split bench, which along with the flat cargo floor, offers people and cargo hauling options. Among the available creature comforts are XM Satellite Radio, navigation, rear view camera, six-speaker audio with Rockford Fosgate powered eight-inch subwoofer, USB port for iPod interface and leather seats.
