Nissan Celebrates 40 Years of the Z

2009 Nissan 370Z The Z sports car has been a prominent fixture in the Nissan lineup for decades. Not only does it maintain the title of the world’s best selling sports car, but the Nissan Z gave the Japanese automaker a bonafide performance pedigree here in the U.S. when it was first introduced in October of 1969.

As the Nissan Z car approaches its forty year anniversary since its introduction to the U.S., Worcester Used Nissan dealers are excited that Nissan will be introducing a special edition, 40th anniversary model to mark that lofty benchmark. Naturally, the anniversary edition will be a top of the line 370Z Touring model with a six-speed manual transmission combined with the Sport package. According to a Nissan Chicopee dealer, the Sport package adds equipment that a Z enthusiast will not want to be without, including Nissan’s synchro-rev matching system, limited slip differential, and oversized brakes with 19-inch wheels.

The anniversary Z will also receive aesthetic modifications to help it stand out, including red stitching on the leather surfaces throughout the interior, along with commemorative anniversary badges. The Z will also receive a special 40th Quartz paint says Hazelwood Nissans and even a red satin car cover. The powertrain for this model will remain identical to that of the standard 370Z.

Although pricing has yet to be released, expect the 40th anniversary Z to reach showrooms in spring 2010.
